Before you ask
Why is there no usage-based pricing?
Because our costs are not usage-based. Tiles are static PMTiles archives on object storage that does not charge for bandwidth, so the marginal cost of the ten-millionth tile is effectively the same as the first. Metering you for it would be a pricing decision, not a cost recovery.
What actually happens if I go over the limit?
We email you and we talk about moving you up a plan. We do not silently bill overage, and we do not cut a production application off without warning.
Do you charge for bandwidth or egress?
No. The tiles sit on Cloudflare R2, which has no egress fee, and we do not invent one. This is usually the single largest difference against a self-hosted setup on a traditional cloud.
Can I self-host the tiles inside my own infrastructure?
Yes, on Enterprise. PMTiles is an open single-file format, so an archive can be handed over and served from your own bucket or shipped inside an offline application.
What is the commitment?
Month to month. There is no annual lock-in on the published plans.
